The power of dogs

There are many diverse opinions about the power of single breeds of dog. Despite this I think that by means of several points we can form for ourselves a real meaning of their approximate power – despite expressive divergence between particular dog breeds.
As we know, the main dog's ancestor is the wolf. In it's athletic figure and compact body is harmonically layed out both power and movability, both penetrativeness and quickness. These abilities were layed out in the wolf by the Nature itself. Therefore "natural" and so far minimally degenerated breeds that are closest to the wolf have at their disposal – proportionally to their weight – higher physical efficiency in comparison with other breeds.
For example, such breeds are Caucasian Ovcharka, Sarplaninac, Saarloos and Czechoslovakian Wolfhound, Belgian Shepherd, German Shepherd, Alaskan Malamute and similarly.
So if we came out of the assumption that "dog of a wolf figure" is able to show somehow bigger physical output than dogs more distant off the wolf then we can claim that for example 35 kg weighing German Shepherd can give out a bigger output than Dogue de Bordeaux or Bull Mastiff – but only if they weighed 35 kg too. But they weigh 50 and more kg so they are clearly stronger than the German Shepherds weighing 35 kg only. But if German Shepherds weighed 50 kg too, they would be at least samely strong and probably even stronger than the members of the two above-mentioned Molossian breeds. However, they do not weigh that much and if we somehow increased their weight, they would become less movable and similarly.
From the above-mentioned it results that the Molossian dogs that are to be clearly stronger than medium breeds of the "wolf type" (Sarplaninac, Saarloos Wolfhound, Czechoslovakian Wolfhound and similarly) weighing 30 – 45 kg should weigh around 50 – 60 kg. And if we go even further, accordingly to this theory we can estimate that for example 80 kg weighing English Mastiff equalizes to a Caucasian Ovcharka weighing 60 kg.
Another factor is a mental state – temperament and self-confidence. Every breed or every respective dog has a different temperament. And the more the dog is temperament, tough or angry in view of it's weight [for instance Pit Bull Terrier or Staffordshire (Bull)Terrier], the more he strives, the bigger obstacles it overcomes and the more it is efficient. Although the truth is that some one-sidedly developed breeds can overcome the wolf in some single discipline, but their entire performance is lower anyway.
I have gradually imparted the opinion that a really strong dog should measure over 70 cm at withers (at least 72 cm and more) and it should weigh at least 50 kg if the wolf-type breed of dog and 60 kg if it is a wolf-distant and artificially created breed of dog (Mastiffs). Only then it can be stronger than all the dogs of all the common breeds.
