Dog fighting


     Many people have always been attracted by such spectacles like fights between two animals, which were sometimes very popular and so it has often been in the case of dog fighting too. However, the more developed a human society is, the more it tries to restrict this cruel activities.

     But as well as all the other, also dog fighting has more forms and faces. Personally, I am against the worst and bloody form of dog fighting like it occurs in game dogs, but I hope that everybody will agree with me that when puppies or young dogs fight in a form of a play, then it's okay. And not too much worse it is in case of temperament tests, practiced with young Russian Wolfdogs that are also called Volkodavs to recognize who is a better fighter to participate in a selective breeding.

     If the decision would be on me, I would strictly ban cruel and professional dog fighting, but I would however legalize temperament tests or some similar variation of a harder play fighting, especially in the breeds of dog that in my opinion needs it like Akbash, Bandogge, Boerboel, Caucasian Volkodav (Caucasian Ovcharka), Central Asian Volkodav (Middle Asian Ovcharka), Kangal, English Mastweiler, Rottweiler, Tosa Inu and similarly.

     As for the often-heard gameness, especially in fighting American Pit Bull Terrier, it deals with a bad and harmful phenomenon since it forces dogs to behave unnaturally and it also breaks their social feeling toward other dogs. So I would like to stop real dog fighting in it's worst and inhuman shape, and legalize some harder play fighting, where dogs neither tear nor seriously hurt each other. My personal opinion is that such milder form of dog fighting could do good to some dogs. But every country has it's own laws and everything depends on "law-makers".
